Tesla Browser Tips & Tricks

Unlock the full potential of your Tesla's web browser with these helpful tips for TeslaPlay's latest features.

Bookmark for Instant Access

The most important tip: bookmark TeslaPlay! Tap the star icon in the browser's address bar. This makes launching your dashboard as simple as opening the browser and tapping one button.

Enable Cloud Sync

Sign in with your Google account (Settings → Enable Cloud Sync) to sync your bookmarks across all devices. Your custom dashboard follows you from Tesla to phone to computer. Perfect for managing apps at home and having them ready in your car!

Use Mobile Remote

In Settings, tap "Mobile Remote" to reveal a QR code. Scan it with your phone to access a mobile dashboard. Add apps with your phone's keyboard instead of typing on the Tesla screen—much easier!

Discover AI-Curated Content

Click the view switcher in the header and select "Live News" to discover trending YouTube channels powered by Gemini AI. Content is localized to your region with native language support—from Taiwan's 中天新聞 to Japan's ニュースライブ. Perfect for charging stops!

Quick Access to Google Services

Need Gmail, Maps, or YouTube? Use the view switcher to access "Google Services" for instant access to 11 Google apps, all optimized for Tesla's touchscreen.

Mastering Theater Mode

The Tesla browser doesn't have native fullscreen, but TeslaPlay provides a solution. Click "Enter Theater Mode" (only visible in Tesla) to create a synchronized, address bar-free viewing window. Perfect for Netflix and YouTube!

Drag-and-Drop Reordering

Enable Edit mode and drag your favorite apps to the top for quick access. Long-press any app icon and drag it to reorder. Your layout is automatically saved and synced if Cloud Sync is enabled.

Keep Your Driver Profile

Your TeslaPlay dashboard is saved in the browser's local storage, tied to your Tesla's driver profile. If you share your car, your custom layout will be there when you return to your profile.

Clearing Browser Data

If you experience issues, try clearing your browser's data in the car's settings. Warning: This will erase all saved data, including your custom TeslaPlay dashboard (unless you have Cloud Sync enabled).
